For many filmmakers, creating the film they’ve been dreaming of is only the beginning of their journey. Once the film is complete, seeing it get traction on platforms like IMDb can be key in taking the next step in their careers.

This commercial campaign aimed to show the impact viewers can have by rating their favorite films on the IMDb website and app. It focused on the real stories of five filmmakers who have seen success as their films have been amplified on IMDb. Aesthetically, the goal was to film everything documentary-style in a casual, familiar setting, and use dynamic b-roll and editing touches to make the commercial stand out. Everything was shot on location in Los Angeles and edited on a very tight turnaround to meet a festival deadline. The final deliverables included a 60, 30, and 15 second edit with both stereo and 5.1 mixes to give flexibility for different placements, as well as vertical cuts for social media. Additionally, another 15 second cut was created to highlight how filmmakers can connect with each other and build their careers through IMDb Pro. This campaign played at select movie theaters and major film festivals across the United States.
